Afghan rugs are among the finest made in the world today. Many rugs are made by Afghan refugees residing in Pakistan. Baluchi rugs are originally handmade by Baluchi nomads living near the borders of Iran/Pakistan/Afghanistan. The rugs are often small in size & use traditional designs of lively, small geometric patterns known as “guls”; prayer rugs are also common. The dominating colours used are red, brown, and dark blue.
