NAME: Antique Kilim Rug Circa 1967
 SKU: 1695

This Kelim is an exceptional vintage piece that has stood the test of time. The colours are still fresh – wonderful rose pink field with blue, black & cream colours highlighting the diamond shaped geometric design. This special piece has the date 1967 woven in a dominant place on the field.

Kelims are made by nomadic people of the Middle East.  They originated in Anatolia & the first pieces were made several hundred years before Christ. Kelims are hand woven hence they have no pile which makes them reversible. Natural products of plants & minerals have been used to dye the wool.
