Usak (Oushak) rugs have stood the test of time. They originated in the town of Oushak in Anatolia, south of Istanbul. Unlike most Turkish rugs Ushak carpets have been greatly influenced by Persian designs. They have been popular for centuries as they look & feel sumptuous & luxurious. The design of Usak rugs are angular large scale floral patterns. This rug has been hand knotted in quality sheep's wool in warm & muted shades of grey/blue & cream colours.
