This semi-antique Tabriz rug, handwoven in the historic city of Tabriz in northwest Iran(Persia), features an exquisite design reminiscent of an oval-shaped floral wreath within another, with birds delicately scattered among the blossoms. Set against a rare teal ground, it is framed by a wide border depicting deer, birds and meandering floral guards.
Crafted from fine lamb’s wool and inlaid with silk, it showcases the exceptional artistry for which Tabriz weavers are renowned. Rugs of this quality and colour are exceptionally rare and highly collectible.
