Silk is steeped in history.  It was so precious centuries ago that it was transported halfway around the world to Europe.  The ancient Silk Road still bears the name today. The design of this silk rug has been carefully drawn – a round central medallion form the dome of a mosque, it is placed within a scalloped frame filled with scattered roses, which encroaches onto an interior border with stunning pictorial scenes of buildings, horses, lions, elephants. A wide midnight blue/ beige floral scalloped border is framed by floral meandering guards. Jewel-like colors of pink, blue & apple green have been chosen by the exceptionally skilled artisans who have produced this rug.
