Hossienabad rugs are hand woven in the Hamadan province of western Iran. The design of this long runner is an allover small floral pattern placed on a black ground. A narrow floral border with meandering foliate guards surround this piece. The colours used are herbal – rose red etc. Hossienabad rugs have a thick pile and are tightly hand woven by craftsmen with skills handed down through generations.
