Shirvan is a city and capital of Shirvan County, North Khorasan Province in Iran, famous as being one of the oldest centers of weaving of wool rugs. Designs can be city or tribal in origin. Shirvan carpets are characterized by an intricate design, which depicts numerous artifacts of everyday life, birds and people.
