Usak (Oushak) rugs have stood the test of time. They originated in the town of Oushak in Anatolia, south of Istanbul. Unlike most Turkish rugs Ushak carpets have been greatly influenced by Persian designs. They have been popular for centuries as they look and feel sumptuous and luxurious. The design of Usak rugs is angular large-scale floral patterns. This rug has been hand knotted in quality sheep's wool.
