Ushak Rugs

Ushak carpets (also Usak or Oushak ) are originally, Turkish rugs that use a particular family of designs, and are named after the city of Usak in Turkey, one of the larger towns in Western Anatolia,  which was a major center of rug production from the early days of the Ottoman Empire. These rugs are now made in other regions as well. Ushak rugs are known for their silky, luminous wool, often in colours of  cinnamon, terracottas, golds, blues, greens, ivory, saffron and greys. The popular star and medallion carpets originated in Ushak.
