Hamadan

Hamadan rugs originate from the central Hamadan plateau situated in central Iran.  Here they produce good quality village rugs, with knotting fine, tight and even. Typically designs include the "Herati" motif which is an old Persian design (from the town of Herat) and derived from local flora, including vines, leaves and flowers.  Construction is wool on cotton warps and wefts for durability and sturdiness.
