Nain, a town situated in central Iran is a relative newcomer in rug production. In about 1930 Nain began developing its own style of very fine and precise designs. The rugs were made of very fine soft wool on a cotton foundation with touches of silk. This is a special signed piece by Ahmadi in the classic Nain style of a central medallion placed on a field of floral sprays. This is a colourful piece of red, blue, green, etc. Being unusual for Nain rugs which are traditionally blue & cream. The proficient weavers of this rug have outlined & inlaid the design with silk to highlight the pattern.
